I am looking for suitable remote management software to deploy in 3 data = centers. I have around 400 Windows 2000 Servers. The problem I'm finding = is that since they're segregated by firewall that is fairly restrictive = (it does NATing but the idea is to severely limit what is allowed in and = out of the lab), Many of the remote management software products don't = have much of a workaround for this. I've been playing with VNC for some = time now and while I can map ports on the firewall to each individual = machine, it's ugly to maintain something like that. Even worse I seem to = have to set the display on each server in the lab specifically to a = different #. =20 The best solution I've seen so far is radmin where you can map just 1 = port and 1 machine. It has the ability to "pass through" that one = machine to any of the others in the room. It seems to work quite well.. =20 Does anyone have any ideas as to how one can effectively use VNC in this = kind of environment? |
