After extensive work to track down a repeating system sound call -
It turns out it was repeated hack attempts on my TightVNC server.
There were no popups, and no easy way to determine it was TightVNC making this noise.
There should be a user configurable Flood cap on how many consecutive attempts can be made by an IP, as well as a pop-up window to tell the user that something is happening (login + failed attempt, at least).
I am on a dynamic IP, so it is apparent there are MANY people out there finding VNC servers, and trying to brute force hammer their passwords.
Please add some protection.
