#7 can't compile on Mac OS X

I need help getting this to compile on Mac OS X - I'm
running 10.4.7. I get the error:

encode_tight.c:23:21: error: jpeglib.h: No such file or
directory

I googled and found someone with a similar compile problem:

but, I'm not sure if the solution given there is the
"correct" one for this situation.

Can anyone give me guidance on what to do here?
