Packaging

There are several ways of packaging up your application.

ZIP or other Compressed archives. ZIP compression is the most common way of packaging a kit or set of files for download. Even the other methods are usually ZIP compressed.

The older ZIP and UNZIP utilities do not support the extended character set on ODS-5 volumes.

PCSI kits the current VMS kitting method.

VMSINSTAL Kits The older VMS kitting method.

Logical Disk Images are not too common for VMS.

Backup Save Sets. A VMSINSTAL Kit is packaged in backup save sets.
