#25 Notes are not highlighted for small velocities

For small velocities, notes received by MIDI input do not highlight the notes. It would be good if there was also an option to make the color 100% solid even when the velocity changes.

Another idea for displaying the velocity may to change the height of the highlight based on the note velocity or have it move along a gradient between two colors.

That option already exists: in Preferences dialog, check box titled "Translate MIDI velocity to key pressed color tint". It is activated by default, but if you clear the check, note velocity won't change the color tint of highlighted keys.

Any chance to get the original issue fixed so that the velocities are mapped to the upper range of opacity such that it is always visible?

You created this ticket in the "bugs" category. This category means: runtime or compile time errors, crashes, things not working, etc. There is another category for "feature requests", that is meant for enhancements. And there are web forums and a mailing list for discussions.

Just to clarify: the highlight color tint is not implemented with transparency, but changing the V component of the HSV representation of color. If you want darker highlight colors, even for low velocity values, then simply start with a darker base color (selecting it in Preferences).

    Thanks for the clarification.
