Okay, it looks like the problem was a generated config for the monitor that ended up in /etc/vizstack/templates/displays - probably this dated back to an earlier version that I tested, and of course it had no bezel information . . . I've deleted it, and it's not being regenerated, so I'd say this was a false alarm. Testing with revision 317 and proper configs/templates shows that it's working properly.
