Currently, this program only supports standard Latin characters and so it is limited to certain languages, please add unicode support to make it possible to create a subtitle in any language (Cyrillic, right to left,...). (perhaps it needs to change program platform from Delphi into Visual C#)

    VisualSubSync already support unicode.
Here is a sample file mixing several langages. : http://www.visualsubsync.org/_media/vss_unicode_sample.zip

Please, Christophe, how am I supposed to open a unicode file? I am failing to manage that. I mean, your file opens fine. Any files I produce (that contain only one language, namely Czech), come out garbled. I cannot see any preference anywhere to actually set the encoding used. How am I supposed to go about it?

Ah, I see, BOM was missing. I think this is a bug, hence: https://sourceforge.net/p/visualsubsync/bugs/29/
