I was just working on packaging vpython-3.2.9. It's giving me that mutex error, which has been popping up. I think it has something to do with the lock class in vthread.h, but I'm not too sure. I just glanced at it. I don't think there is anything wrong with the code since we know it works, but something is going on when it is trying to compile. The other day I was talking to a friend, and he heard that there are some differences between gcc 4.3 on Ubuntu and Fedora, which probably are accounting for some of the install issues users are experiencing. If the code runs on Ubuntu then it will run on any distribution regardless of arch-type. If the code doesn't run then the reason for any errors are going to have to do something with differences between the two distributions. Fixing this error on Fedora for an x86 kernel will almost deffinitly solve Siddhardh's issues on x86_64 linux. I don't think the archtype has too much to do with it? Siddhardh I see you are compiling version 3.2.9 as well. Do you use Fedora or Ubuntu? -- Brad Longo North Carolina State University Aerospace Engineering/Applied Mathematics Raleigh, NC, USA cell: 862-266-7066 email: bj...@nc... |

Brad, you made the same (natural) mistake I made. He's using a Linux distribution named "Arch", not Fedora nor Ubuntu.
