On the other hand, some applications allow the launching of external apps.
I have included links in PowerPoint presentations that launch Vpython
demos.
During the presentation one clicks on the link and python and the demo
starts.
Works quite smoothly. I can't remember the procedure, but searching the
ppt
help for "launching external application" or something like that should
produce
results.
I'd be very surprised if the equivalent functionality were not available
in pdf documents and
OpenOffice.org documents.
