On a Debian system, Matrix.py is in a separate package such as
python2.3-numeric-ext that needs to be installed. (I don't know why
offhand; it probably has to do with handling underlying library
dependencies.) It is not installed by default, and Visual normally
works fine without it, so I hadn't noticed it was missing.
