Martin is correct. I installed the upgrade shortly
after I made the posting; when I ran my script in the
new environment, the program gave me an error message
essentially the same as the one Martin reported.

While we're talking about bugs. . . . I tried out the
new "helix" command in the upgraded version, and I
found that a number of the attributes for it either
won't operate properly or don't work at all. Details
are available upon request.
