I think the question below wasn't addressed by anyone, so I'll give it a 
shot. There is an extremely extensive set of modules for Python, to do 
almost anything. This includes dealing with sound. In fact, I think the 
creator of Python, Guido van Rossum, himself contributed to the sound 
capabilities. I haven't used this machinery myself, though.
