I, for one, think Vpython is great -- I see it as an ideal intermediate level graphics language -- not as low level as openGL but not so high level as to be useful for only one task. There is, of course, a wish list (alpha blending for objects, built-in capability to import objects from 3D design packages, ability to record to an mpeg file, etc) but overall I find it to be a very useful language -able to accomplish a great deal in not much code. |
