Except that the VPython folks have a design goal that is quite tangential to IDLE's. They need a tool to support their visual python modules (which allow the manipulation of 3D objects and should not to be confused with ActiveState's IDE) and the teaching of physics. While I do think their needs should be accomodated, I don't know that they would want to be responsible for IDLE development as a whole. (But I could be wrong.) I've added them to the recipients of this message. We'll see if they respond. (The vpython list has been quiet lately.) --- Patrick K.
