I do see notes from you in the archives stored at sourceforge.net. The previous one found there was 11/22. Unfortunately I can't comment on the RedHat problems other than to say that I have received reports from people who used the info at our FAQ (at http://cil.andrew.cmu.edu/projects/visual) and were indeed able to get VPython running on RedHat Linux. Perhaps someone knowledgeable will respond to your question (and it sounds like it would be prudent to copy you personally, not just mail to the email list!).
