I found part of the trouble with my first test of VPython for Mac was solved by rebuilding the desktop. Now I can launch things by drag and drop onto the PythonInterpreter. Things still quit in a rather strange way (I need to study that some more), though. I also noticed a few of my programs that worked perfectly OK on a PC have drawing 'glitches' in them on the iMac -- like a point or two that should be in a reasonable place somehow flies off to infinity momentarily, then comes back (I need to show you a picture). One run terminated with the message "no mem for new parser," in the Python IDE.out window. What does that mean? And another problem I had earlier was trying to install OpenGL -- the MacBinary version would not work. I had to use the .hqx version to get it to decompress. Hope anybody else out there trying this suffers a little less.... Steve Highland [Don't take all the above the wrong way -- I am still having fun!] |
