Thanks for the replies to my earlier message, lots to think about.

Two of the topic under discussion are related: if we could save to povray
files we could generate static images for a web site (or, with a bit more
work, animated images).  Likewise, if we can save snapshots programmatically
from VPython (and have textures), there isn't much need for povray.

I look forward to seeing how this sorts out.
