In the context of my previous response, the first thing to do is to install the pure 32-bit version of Python and see whether that cures this problem. Aaron Mavrinac set up the new git repository, and I'm VERY shaky in my use of it. I noticed that he removed the SCons stuff, and I've updated the build instructions, so those aspects of your findings have been taken care of. If you generate more significant commits, I'll ask you to talk with Aaron instead of me, because I'm not yet comfortable with how to use git.
