For what it's worth, Visual works fine for many people on Ubuntu
10.10, both the package python-visual and building from source. Thanks
for the link to a bug report. This is very puzzling and frustrating,
and I don't see how to get at the problem, which presumably is
hardware-related, and/or an issue with particular graphics drivers.
