But as you're facing a system with many more interactions and interconnects (the machine's RAM, the bus, some management, etc.) you're likely to suffer some degradation from that raw rendering figure. It's like with a car engine's power rating. I think in the US this is measured straight off the engine, without a car attached. But in a real situation the power has to flow through the gear box, drive shafts, differential, etc. down to the wheels.
