A possible diagnosis is that the problem lies with your graphics environment, 
which perhaps doesn't support OpenGL properly. Try running the demo program 
glinfo.py and report the output. Perhaps you could update the graphics driver 
from the laptop manufacturer. Or try setting the graphics acceleration to zero.
