It has nothing to do wxPython.
And as I suspected that you didn't use wxPython,
I attached a little autoit-executable (which is written directly on the 
windows APIs), so you reproduce the bug without wxPython.
The fact that this autoit program shows the same problem,
also proves that it's not wxPython to blame.
