Good afternoon.
I just installed the new Visual 5 candidate on my MacBook Pro running OS X
10.5.5 and an ATI Radeon X1600 graphics card and all seems to work very
well. I encountered the documented startup problem (Visual doesn't run
initially) and the fix on the website worked. This is a weird problem! But
once Visual runs my program work seemingly perfectly. I note that graphics
windows don't seem to respond to cmd-w, which should close the current
window. I also persistently get the message "Shader would be emulated in
software; disabling." message when running texturetest.py. According to the
Wikipedia article, my graphics card should support PS3.0. IDLE under
MacPython 2.5.2 has no configuration options. Windows don't respond to the
trackpad fingertip gestures either.
