Hello, > >How many subscribed? http://sourceforge.net/mail/?group_id=125637 sais "Approximate subscriber count: 8" > >There's someone working on something? > > yes, we do - and as far I know some others also. that sounds great and triggers two questions: - on what are you working concretely? - Don't you use the CVS on sourceforge? If you want ve to become "a "real" open source project" it would be fair to let the others know what you are doing. - who else is working on what? - wouldn't this list be exactly there to tell about these things? I think there is no greater motivation brake than seeing the work you have done senseless because someone else already did it. (BTW this would be a waste of - very rare - resources.) It is not easy to work through such an amount of code and perhaps it would make sense, if someone from ObjectTools could assign a few small jobs to interested (potential) developers it could help to motivate and find out who could really help. And you (someone from ObjectTools) would help to find into the project. I know these project managing tasks are not that interesting and a lot of OpenSource projects ignore them. I'm excited to see whether VE will get into the drive. - If it is easy to begin and one feels support from the existing developers I guess it will result in more and better work. > But remember, that this list is only for developers. A (not that little) amount of communication could lead to better results I guess and a dead mailing list is often a sign of a dead project. (I understand that too much traffic on a list kills communication, too - especially if its mainly noise and bashing each other, but until now it doesn't seem to be that way.) > There is another > List for anyone - and there is the Wiki. Please use these media also ! Where could one find the other list? Rapha |
