Main Releases

New Features available with Release 1.0.3:

  • HARDI Fiber Tracking Plugin (tested with .sharm and .nii data)
  • Saving Scalar and DTI volumes in Nifti format.
  • Saving and Reading Scalar and DTI volumes in .vti format.
  • Saving Discrete Sphere, Spherical Harmonics data in Nifti MIND format.
  • Crop3D Plugin: 3D Croping Scalar and DTI data
  • Reading nii.gz file format
  • Some bugs and compiling problems were also solved

Release 1.0.1 Notes:

  • The visualisation of DTI glyphs was tested on Nvidia Graphics Cards and Drivers.
  • Unnecessary warnings at first start up of Viste: At the first startup, vIST/e may produce some messages, e.g., about a missing settings.xml, but also about certain files being invalid Qt plugins. Please omit these warnings by clicking OK button. These warnings will not be displayed any more during the succeding startups.
  • Check user privilages in case of the problems encountered during the setup.

Source code temporarily might have new features which does not exist in last release.

Test Releases

Release 1.0.3 Beta Notes:
- This Beta release includes HARDI Fiber Tracking plugin which is only tested with discrete sphere ".nii" data.

Release 1.0.2 Beta Notes:
- This Beta release includes HARDI Fiber Tracking plugin which is only tested with spherical harmonics ".sharm" data.

For All Releases

  • The visualisation of DTI glyphs was tested only on Nvidia Graphics Cards and Drivers.
  • vIST/e installers contain a few sample data-sets. A typical raw data has a text header file and binary file.
  • Nifti formatted DTI and HARDI data are loaded faster, for downloadable Nifti files of all data files : http://mind.loni.ucla.edu/tools/sample-files/ .
  • vIST/e can read raw (text header and binary files), Nifti (.nii), Nifti Mind (.nii), VTK volume(.vti) files.

Installation Structure

  • $INSTDIR\bin\data (data to be given together with the executable)

  • $INSTDIR\bin\ (viste.exe, viste dlls, VTK and Qt DLLs, compiler redistribution files. Release versions of all exe and DLLs.)

  • $INSTDIR\bin\shaders

Graphics Card

NVidia is typically a safe bet for VISTe, OpenGL 3 with GLSL >= 1.5 Support is necessary.
