There are some videos of the DTITool (the old version of vIST/e) to be found on YouTube. Note however that the functionality and user interface may be slightly outdated.
This is not valid anymore.
The vIST/e source code is not hosted with SourceForge. SourceForge allows only public repositories and no fine-grained, branch-specific access permissions. Even though the vIST/e tool and its default set of plugins is open source, we also develop features that have to remain private, at least temporarily. For example, if new features are part of research work that has not been published yet or when our clinical partners require us to keep certain features private. For this purpose we need private branches that are only accessible by our internal development team, students and research employees. Since SourceForge does not allow such private folders, we decided to host our source code with BerliOS Developer.
Please check out the vIST/e documentation for details about obtaining the source code from the BerliOS SVN repository.

I converted the DICOM images (256 gradient directions) to nifti (compressed) using MRIConvert software. But I tried to import, but I got an error. There are any wiki with instructions how to import the diffusion images ?
