Applications are invited for an EPSRC funded postdoctoral position in a
joint project between the School of Computing Sciences, University of East
Anglia and the Centre for Vision, Speech and Signal Processing, University
of Surrey. You will be involved in the design and development of
experiments, algorithms and the analysis of results pertaining to automatic
lip-reading and will be based in the Scale-space vision group at the
University of East Anglia led by Dr Richard Harvey and working with
Professor Stephen Cox in the Speech Group and Dr Barry Theobald in the
Vision and Graphics Group.

You will have, or be expected to have, a PhD in Engineering, Computer
Science or other numerate scientific subject. You should be comfortable
developing programmes particularly in Matlab which is used extensively in
speech and vision. It is particularly important that you are able to work i=
n
a team and prepared to undertake some independent travel since the project
spans two laboratories. You will also be expected to supervise PhD students
working in this and related fields.
