first off great job!
second please post an md5sum or something for this
please... had strange problems downloading from
sourceforge, after 4 tries I finally got a "working"
image though would be nice to reassure myself I got all
the goods! (all downloads we're "mountable" though
would not boot when burned!)
thanks for the study material, been trying to do this
with a specially installled redhat 7.1!
noticed a couple things...
while the "auto-mount" hard drive thing works great,
I've been running into problems with X freezing up,
quickly followed by all of the tty's...
(thus causing my 12 hard drive partitions to be
uncleanly mounted as I can't take the system down at
that point)
persistent use of the X server does this, calling a
web-browser or the gimp does this REALLY fast...
some kind of memory-management thing or ?
see the cdrom enabling swap space (on the first windows
partition?) though haven't looked into this too much...
I feel confident that I can resolve these things on my
own but thought I'd post it...
also, I can't get my ethernet card to configure
properly through dhcp no matter what I do!!!!!?
<-really wierd!
I must be missing something but am very familiar with
the adsl network I'm on...
comes up as 192.168.100.30 instead of 10.131.36.58 like
it should... can't figure out where it's falling back
to the alternate config!
oh well, as won't do much good except for lynx (I
hope!) as the graphic browsers kill the whole thing...
"feels" like the browsers (even galeon) allocate too
much memory and then leave the kernel short but how the
hell would that even be possible?
will see what I can do with the image on my hard drive...
any input from anyone would be appreciated!
thanks again for the good work!
oh yeah, I have an abit kt7 w. via kt133 chipset, 128M
RAM w. Athlon 750Mhz and Intel Etherexpress pro 100 pci
(the one I'm trying to configure...) and a Kingston
ne2000 isa card that hangs the system in Kudzu if you
try to configure it...
a note on that by the way...
on my system either "migrate existing network..." or
configuring the ne2000 card causes the system not to
"hang" as I can still us ctrl alt del to bring it all
down properly... the screen simply goes blank and I
can't do anything about it almost like the graphics
card gets temporarily subverted (??) until I go to take
it down, strange as I have never had this problem with
Kudzu before...
