Just a quick note to let everyone know that the guestbook on http://www.virtual-linux.org is now working properly......... and I hope you sign Crixz's (the creator of vl) guestbook and leave him some feedback there.

Also today (07-11-2002) a new document was added to the website. Hacking Virtual-Linux 1.1

This doc goes into detail about how to configure Virtual Linux to your liking.

A fresh new release for ya folks to play with ..
One bug is present ... so far .
Cups is broke, so printing does not work .
I will fix it in a week or so, have to reinstall
my developer machine, and rebuild the compressed image .
Please find the rest of the bugs and give me a mail or two !

I have recently finished a new version based upon Manadrake 8.1 , first version availiable in public , internal beta 9 .

Seems stable on the 46 machines i have tested it on at the moment ( all computers we have at work :)) .

I seem to have solved the x , dhcp, modules , and a bunch of other bugs that the community have found for me .
And i have ofcourse added some new fetures, like ramsystem compression , a graphical bootmenu and i have fixed the 'running over the edge' ramdisk problem that caaused system to hang on machines with little ram .... read more

A new version is a couple of days away !
I have som anoying script bugs to fix now , but that wont take long .
The new release have vast improvements , some examples : swapdisk support , working hardware detection , better save settings routine , 1.7GB software .... compression added, new 2.4 kernel ,
autoresizing ramdisks etc , i have worked hard to get it right this time .

I am working on a new release based on Mandrake 8.0 , and i am trying to flush out the last bugs at the moment , many new features are added and i have included a full (1.6 gigs) Mandrake this time , this is possible due to cloop compression ( dev: klaus knopper , knopper.net) .
This give VL much better performance , and decreased boot time .
Some things are still not working though , as ya might understand does a whole distribution create a lot more trouble to overcome :( , i am therefore looking for people interested in giving me a helping hand !... read more
