1. Download vfs-yyyy-mm-dd.tar.gz
2. Upload the file to your server
3. “tar –xvzf vfs-yyyy-mm-dd.tar.gz”
4. go into the unzipped vfs/ directory
5. “perl 1.VFS.sys.check.pl”. The script would check the dependencies and download the appropriate databases
6. Configure vfs.conf under the vfs/ directory
   • Make sure the PATH to databases and third-party programs are correct
   • Check that the fastq files are in same directory of viral.fusion.pl. Or you can create symbolic links there
7. “perl 2.run.example.dataset.pl”
