#6 Unable to cleanly switch PulseAudio to USB sound card

I tried to use a usb sound card today and was surprised to find I could check the box and get speech from it. But shortly after doing this Pulse went crazy and Orca started talking so fast you couldn't understand it. This was the problem earlier in pulse.
Rebooting took care of this, but the same thing happened when I tried this again. The next time I rebooted I just plugged in my soundcard and sound switched to it with no problem. Maybe once you check that box it is automatic after that.
Anyway, if any of you have a usb soundcard, you may want to play with this and see if you have any problems.
I will download a live cd and try this as well to see if I have the same problem.
