Earlier this week I released the first version of ViNull Siding that can be run "out of the box." Just download the latest version, and open the folder inside the zip file in your VS2005/VWD as a web site, and click run - that it!

Well, for an unannounced little project, the downloads are moving at a healthy pace. So what's next?

Currently work is focused on Movable Type API and Windows Live Writer - these are to make life easier on me making blog posts - so I have more free time to work on this project! Plus, I feel these are good features someone may want to inspect for their own blogs.

Next is a "demo" install. This will let any curious developer download, unzip, open the project in VS 2005 or VWD, click on run and have a working site. Documentation on the site architecture will also be added to the project. this should help those downloading the site and not knowing where to start (which is no fault of theirs!)... read more

The initial svn check-in is completed, and I've released a downloadable version as well. So what is ViNull Siding?

ViNull Siding is the code that runs my blog, ViNull.Com. I am not releasing the code here as yet another blog/cms framework; instead it is here as a teaching and learning aide for C# and ASP.NET. In the next few months I will be documenting the code and discussing it in my blog. At some point, I hope to release (separately from the main project) useful controls and classes that will be helpful to all ASP.NET developers.... read more
