But now that you mention it, the status bar does show up after i press <Tab> to open the 'completion menu' and close it. Is that intentional? Basically, even thou both bars can be set to 'false', they show up when 'used' and then stay up. Is that intentional? Personally i would prefer that they both auto-hide when not in use. |

Cookie policy makes sense. I use duck duck go but haven't tried start page yet myself. Hi all, I'd like to propose two changes to the default configuration: - Cookie policy to accept no third party cookies. I believe this goes along with the general privacy philosophy of the browser. I'm aware that it will 'break' a couple of pages, though I nevertheless believe it is a sensible default. - Include startpage.com as shortcut s. Since the demise of Scroogle, this shortcut is not taken anymore. Many people seem to prefer Google results. This seems to be the most sensible way to provide them. On a related note, is everybody happy with the default search engine setting? Or is everybody using DuckDuckGo/something else anyway (i.e. it should become the new default shortcut)? Comments, supporting or adverse, welcome! Hannes |

I'm not quite sure whether I understand your intention fully. The status bar (the black bar where the URL and the loading progress are shown) appears again automatically? When? Under which circumstances? Is it possible you're talking about the input bar (the bottom bar where commands are typed)? Hannes |

Hello, Having the statusbar auto-hide when not being used would be awesome. I use a tililing window manager (dwm), and the status bar is ugly when you have two windows open in the stack Anyways, i have set statusbar = false in my ~/.config/vimprobablerc. But that only removes it at startup and until i've used it. Having it auto hide would be wonderful. |

Oh you were talking about my first thread! I thought you talked about the one I linked in the mail. I only got an automatic answer saying that my message was waiting for a moderator's approval and no other reaction (I wasn't yet on the mailing list), so i thought it was lost. How do I apply the patch? I wouldn't expect this to be a huge issue for most users as opposed to the regular, untargeted mass tracking. Hannes |

But can you name a website you regularly visit, that relies on it? I can't. My local WebStorage-directory was about 30M large when I looked into it. Most of the files only contained a single string, often named UniqueID or something. Youtube, faz.net or the usual trackers like Doubleclick just stored cookies. So far I didn't find a website that stored more than that. As these are stored without time limits and Webkit doesn't provide any means to control their storage, I went for turning off Web Storage per default. But I only tried it for some days, so I wouldn't recommend it for now. Besides, I doubt it makes it much harder to track you, when you use a useragent that's, let's say, not very common ;) Jan |
