Martin is correct. I spent a good amount of time attempting to use another version of vim. Actually, I was able to use the command line version of vim for Windows, but it kept hanging my system when I pressed any key. I would suggest either using the cygwin version or perhaps helping Martin develop his gvimplugin. I would very much like to see this move forward! I don't have much time to code at the moment, but I could definitely help with testing, and perhaps the occasional bug fix.
