[Vimcdoc-translate] utf8 -> euc-cn ?

Should we supply 'encoding=enc-cn' files together with those utf8 encoded files?
I think some people would have difficulty seeing the utf8 encoded files in some
situations. I am just one of them. :)

Sometimes, I use Putty to ssh to my Debian box(without X) under Windows XP. And
then it is difficult to see all the utf8 encoded characters normally on screen.
I used a simple script to convert all the translated docs to 'enc-cn' encoding
and everything is okay. The script is as follows and it uses a packaged named
'zh-autoconvert' which supplies the tools 'autogb':

#!/bin/sh

for i in doc/*.txt; do
        autogb -i utf8 -o gb < $i >$i.tmp
        mv $i.tmp $i
done
==========================================

Still I am not quite sure if it is proper for us to supply author 'enc-cn' encoded 
copy of those docs. :)

I didn't fully understand your problem. But try :set enc=euc-cn
in Vim. This (supposedly) will ask Vim to convert utf-8 to euc-cn
on the fly.

我的问题是，在windows下面用putty来ssh到linux中时
显示utf8编码的文件有问题――总是或多或少有些乱码

所以我只能把所有的帮助文件转换成gb2312编码的才能看
不知道其他人有没有相似的情况

可能这是少数情况，不用考虑――那么直接忽略我的这个帖子好了 :)

That is what I mean. Do ':set enc=3Deuc-cn' before=20
doing :help and Vim will do the conversion for you. No=20
need for the script.

我也是碰到这个问题，原来以为是系统和vim设置问题，可是不管怎么改,
始终没法看utf8格式,只能是改putty的设置,可是改了之后utf8的文件也不是
全都能看,总有一些字是无法显示的...
而且怎么也没发让utf8和gb2312共存阿。。
为了看utf8，改了putty设置之后一般的中文文件就没法看了，
没法两个同时看.
总之很头疼......
我总觉得不至于就我这么笨..肯定还有很多用户跟我一样吧....
个人认为现在这套方案十分地十分地不适合中国人....

因为vimcdoc现在成了我这里唯一一套不能看的中文文档.....
强烈建议几位老大考虑一下..

无法显示的字的问题是vim的设置问题。。不过其他依然令人头疼。。
反正翻译出来的vim的文档不是给老外看的。。根本没必要用utf8。
或者即使要用，建议出两个版本。。或者安装时可以由用户选择。。

好了。。设置好vim了。。现在什么都能看了。。
不过看了好几个小时。。还是我不用心看造成的。。大家当没看到我发的好了。
