I have the same behaviour (all the document is rendered in white 
background and one single foreground colour upon entering an insert 
command - I've just verified it with FIT. `it is not doing any harm 
tho.) on vim 6.3 and LaTeX-suite 1.8.13 (that's what 
LaTeX-suite/version.vim says) from March 28.

I have no idea what could be the cause of it, but it's getting on my 
nerves. I'll check out svn in a minute and keep you updated.
