Sorry, I meant to say that amslatex is indicated by

\usepackage{amsmath}

with further options such as amsthm, amsfonts.  
Amslatex is equal to latex among mathematicians.
It should be supported.  In particular, there are 
lots of environments like 

\begin{align}
\end{align}

\begin{align*}
\end{align*}

\begin{multline}
\end{multline

As well as handy options such as 

\numberwithin{equation}{section}

for numbering according to the section.
