You could do what I did. I set up a filter which redirects all cvs mails
into a vim-latex-cvs folder and then changed my mailing preferences for
the mailing list as individual mails instead of the daily digest. This
way each mail in the folder has the log message at the very top so
you dont have to scroll, the message subject is also descriptive
instead of "daily digest" and also it wont clutter up your inbox, so you
can see it periodically when you wish.

Good to hear about the linux install going smoothly :) The next time I
get a computer, its going to be linux!

PS: I am wondering whether we should have a "Reply To:" header in the
devel mailing list header. Right now, the only way to only reply to the
group in pine is to choose "reply all", compose and then delete the
sender from the to list. kinda longish. With the reply to, pine will ask
to use "Reply To:"
