ii  vim            2:7.2.330-1    Vi IMproved - enhanced vi editor

On my system /usr/bin/gvim points to /etc/alternatives/gvim, which again points to /usr/bin/vim.gnome.

Btw: I also have some packages installed for Japanese language support. I am
not exactly sure, but maybe there is a relation to them.
