Hi, thx, but I dont't use vim in a terminal, I use MacVim (which is a GUI version of vim for Mac OS X). Nevertheless I followed your proposal and mapped the alt key macro <Alt+I> to <C-b>, unfortunately I still get that strange behaviour.
