#40 Viking on macOS - unable to save map tiles

Hi!

I'm running macOS Hight Sierra v10.13.3 and I've been trying to get Viking to work on it, but had no luck so far. I've compiled the app and lauched it, but there's something preventing me from displaying Bing Aerial map tiles. Here's what the Terminal shows me whenever I try to launch the app and download tiles:

If you know the solution and can help me get to the bottom of it, I would be eternally grateful to you. It's paramount for me to get this app running. I've tried other similar apps on mac, but they pale in comparison to this one.

I don't know much about MacOS.
I assume you have file write persmissions for the /Users/user/Library/Application Support/Viking/viking-maps ?
Otherwise you'll need to change the default Map folder location.

Secondly try using the OpenStreetMap (Mapnik) map type as this is less likely to run into server provided Tile limits.

Thirdly you can try running Viking with the command line parameters '-Vd' which will print out more debug information which can help pinpoint the underlying issue.
