Viking 1.10 on Windows always sorts waypoints alphabetically in every exported GPX file, no matter which options are chosen for ordering within the software. The expected behavior is to keep the waypoints in the same order as imported unless a sort method is chosen. Instead, they are always alpha-sorted, which in my experience is never valuable. The most common, practical sort is going to be by date of course, the order in which the waypoints were created or "occurred" on the trail. If the program was going to enforce some kind of order, by date would be the logical choice. However, it shouldn't be enforced at all on export. The order should remain the same as shown within the software, whether sorted or unsorted. Because of this undesirable alphs-sorting effect, I have to use GPSBabel command line to sort every single file generated by Viking, which should be a completely unnecessary step. It almost feels like sabotage because the files were how I wanted them to begin with, and when brought into Viking, they are altered to be in a very impractical state, causing undesirable work to get the files back to how they were before using Viking. This undesired alpha-sorting happens whether exporting to GPX or exporting via GPSBabel if installed. At the very least, there should be a checkbox in the preferences to disable this "feature."
