#167 Using ruler locks up Viking
I'm running Viking 1.10 on Debian 12.2.0-14, amd64, Xfce4 on my home computer, work computer, and a laptop. All three systems have the following problem with Viking: If I try to use the ruler the program becomes unresponsive and I need to terminate it and re-start to use the program again. However, I found that if I start Viking and check "Debug Mode" in the Help menu before using the ruler, then the ruler tool works fine. This is an easy work-around for me but I thought I'd bring it to your attention.

I believe this has been fixed in the latest source code (i.e. not included in the v1.10 release) - independently reported / fixed via https://github.com/viking-gps/viking/pull/175
