    Hi there,

It's my first time using a lot of the interfaces required for VietOCR, so
please keep things simple and walk me through the steps as if I'm your
    grandmother. Thank you!

I'm on macOS Monterey 12.3.1. I've installed Tesseract 4.1.3 and so far I
have Eng and San listed as available. My goal is to get VietOCR to run
    IAST.traineddata (https://github.com/Shreeshrii/tesstrain-Sanskrit-IAST).

Whenever I open VietOCR I get the message:
    "tessdata folder is not found.
Please install lanugage packs and/or set TESSDATA_PREFIX
environment variable to parent directory of tessdata."

Since it is easy to follow, I thought I could use the instructions here:
https://ancientgreekocr.org/osx.html. But they are quite old and in
particular, the handy "Preferences" option in the VietOCR menu at step 5 no
longer appears to exist in the program. So I am not sure how to connect my
    Tesseract to VietOCR.

I noticed in Gary Gauthier's post from 2021-01-23, he wrote that he "set
the $TESSDATA_PREFIX to "/opt/local/share/tessdata" which is the parent
    directory of my "traineddata" directory."

I was wondering if this is what I have to do. If so, how do I do that? As
in, step by step, what do I need to type into my terminal? It seems like
everyone knows how this stuff works already, but I have no clue.

Thanks for any help you can provide.
