Videotrans 1.5.2 released

Videotrans 1.5.2 is now released, which fixes a major problem in 1.5.1 where the creation of a DVD menu would randomly fail by a crashing spumux.

Videotrans 1.5.0 released

Videotrans, a suite of programs to create DVDs from arbitrary movie files, has released its latest release, 1.5.0.

Changes are:
There was a bug in the Makefiles causing some systems to refuse to install the package. The tv.com ripper now support tv.com's new layout. The movie-title program now renders sensible menus if no preview images are used. The movie-to-dvd program now supports the forcing of a specific audio codec while generating the destination video's audio. Movies without audio are now handled correctly.

Videotrans 1.4.0 released

Version 1.4.0 of Videotrans, a set of programs to create complete DVDs for use in standalone DVD players out of movies of nearly any type, has been released. This release fixes a number of issues relating to the way in which aspect ratio calculations were being done. Wrong aspect ratios make videos look either too tall or too wide.

Videotrans 1.3.0 released

Fixed a number of bugs and added new features for creating DVD menus. DVD menus now have many more options. Also, the program is now compatible with some versions of ImageMagick and mplayer that act in different ways than other versions of those programs.

DVD encoder "videotrans-1.2.1" released

This release fixes a bug in the 1.2.0 release which caused the movie-rip-tv.com program to hang in some situations.

DVD encoder "videotrans 1.2.0" released

This version of videotrans, which is a set of scripts that make it easy to put movies and video clips (encoded in any format that mplayer understands) onto a DVD, together with a selection menu and all, contains a lot of bug fixes and some minor but very useful enhancements like a progress indicator while encoding.

DVD converter "videotrans-1.1.0" released

This latest release of videotrans fixes a number of bugs regarding AC3 5.1 audio tracks. The documentation has been updated and omissions in the documentation have been resolved. Furthermore, the program now no longer depends on "sox" to function properly.

DVD converter "videotrans-1.0.1" released

Yesterday "videotrans-1.0.0" was released, which contained some installation problems. Videotrans-1.0.1 should fix these problems. videotrans is a set of scripts that allow its user to reformat existing movies into the VOB format that is used on DVDs.

Furthermore, videotrans supplies programs which allow its user to create a complete DVD, including selection menus which allow the viewer to choose which movie he/she wants to see, if more than one movie fits onto a DVD.... read more
