When I came back to my session (after a 20 hour hiatus), I got this home page: 2 orange bars with "mailing list added and added:rknap"

Is this a sort of ‘alert’ as to what has changed since your last visit? If so, could the banner (in orange) be more specific—e.g. rknapp was added to Group X; a Mailing List for Group Y was started.

This is pretty deep into the code of the system. I would rather put this in as a feature request.
