Video Backup Fusion
The complete and simply to use backup solution for YouTube video portal

Development and Copyright (C) 2011 - 2016 Kai Heitkamp

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This document contains important notes for Video Backup Fusion

News about v4.0
===============
The old concept with YouTube users and their uploads, video lists or playlists
are deprecated. This works with the YouTube API v2 without limits, but the v2.0
api is deactivated since 04-20-2015. The new v3 api is limited to 50000 request
each day, more costs money. Therefore, I have introduced a new concept in Video
Backup Fusion v4.0. It's based on youtube-dl, download and more informations here:

http://youtube-dl.org

In Source view you can use video url / video id or playlist url / playlist id.
One each line or use space character as separator in one line.

youtube-dl
==========

For Video Backup Fusion v4.0 you need youtube-dl installed and for download in
DASH format you need ffmpeg or avconv installed. These must be in the path
($PATH environment variable) or in same directory as the ViBaFu executable!
More details about output templates here:

https://github.com/rg3/youtube-dl/blob/master/README.md#output-template

Translations
============
German translation in need of improvement, other translations incompletely.
You want Video Backup Fusion in your language? Download the current english.ts
language file from the version control tree and translate it with Qt Linguist
(part of the Qt development tools), send me the translated .ts file back and
I will integrate the new language in the next version of Video Backup Fusion.
Thank you very much for your work!

Binary optimizations
====================

The Linux binary is compiled with the "-march=i686" compiler flag and
therefore optimized for i686 prozossers! You need a Intel Pentium Pro
respectively an AMD K7 or better!

Haiku
=====

Video Backup Fusion runs on Haiku-OS. Extract package into "/boot" for
install. All required libraries are in download package.

Configuration file
==================

The configuration file of Video Backup Fusion is located here:

Linux: /home/<username>/.config/dynup/vibafu.conf
Windows: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\dynup\vibafu.ini
MacOSX: /Users/<username>/Library/Preferences/com.dynup.vibafu.plist
Haiku: /boot/home/config/settings/Qt/.config/dynup/vibafu.conf

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Big thanks to the trolls at Trolltech Norway for his excellent Qt toolkit,
the guys at Digia for the continuation and all people at the Qt Project for
the open source development of Qt! Big thanks to the developers at the
youtube-dl project, keep up the great work! Video Backup Fusion is licensed
under the GNU General Public License v3.
