there are some files that don't play with vgmstream, but they do play when in_cube.dll is present, however the *.str files from ff:cc don't work if in_cube.dll is present.

not working in vgmstream, but working with in_cube.dll:
eternal darkness in audio/streams you have extensionless mono dsp's. I used dkdsp to merge the left with right channels. They play when not merged, but they don't work when merged.
this also applies for the l/r dsp's in metroid prime.
Also, when extracting dsp's from thp files to save space some games don't have working dsp's unless in_cube.dll is present. The original thp plays fine.
the agsc's in metroid prime, though some of metroid prime 2 work, some of them freeze vgmstream

With regards to dkdsp, it wasn't very good at generating proper files. vgmstream is more strict than in_cube with format checking, so it rejects them. You might consider my newer tool Revolution B (revb) that does essentially the same thing, but it creates Wii BRSTM files from mono DSPs.
I don't know about the THP, XA, or ADS issues, I'll ask around about those.
I've never seen any .agsc files but two for the menu music in Metroid Prime 2. If you could put the others online somewhere I could see where my support is wrong. Did these ever work with in_cube?

This file will not play as well.
This game is Mr. Driller drill land (Japan only)
Star Fox assault should be the same stream.

Most* of the .dsp files for "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3: Mutant Nightmare" ("standard or unrecognized" DSP) don't work.
The .xmu files from "Midway Arcade Treasures 3" (XBOX IMA ADPCM, type XMU) don't work, either.

They all work fine (er, mostly... MAT3 has some loop issues) with in_cube v0.38 , but various versions of vgmstream (including r967) don't even report a track length or anything.

*Interestingly enough, the tracks that play in vgmstream are the non-looping ones. They report more specifically as 'Gamecube "DSP" 4-bit ADPCM', with a "Standard Nintendo DSP header" in vgmstream.

The Black & White sound files (.sad) don't play in Winamp when vgmstream is present. The files don't appear to be affected by in_cube in any way. They play fine whether in_cube is present or not, so long as vgmstream is gone.
