Hi Tony, What you need to do is this: export CVS_RSH=ssh to tell CVS to use ssh...and then cvs -z3 -d...@cv...:/cvsroot/vfs co vfs The -z3 puts on compression the co short for checkout the final vfs is the module within the vfs root Once you have done this you should be able to do other things more simply like cvs commit cvs commit README cvs update cvs add README.new cvs release etc. I hope this helps a bit.
