Hi, I'm a developer for Cellvic SmartPhone OS platform.
One of my friend is now working on Vexed for Cellvic OS platform. Is it possible to develop for other platform without license from original developer?
Cellvic OS is a similar to Palm OS, using Dragonball CPU (66-MHz)
There's more infos in www.cellvic.com web site.
Thanks,

What if someone was to write a complete app, only using the level pack? Would the GPL need to be enforced, ie : Is the whole game, level included, considered as the same GPL'ed work, or the level pack are separate (and they appear to be)
No changes would be made to the levels nor the game code.

I think that the level packs are licensed along with the source code, so that there wouldn't be any difference between levels and code.
So I'd expect that any app using the level packs would also need to be GPL'd. Perhaps if someone gave me a pointer to a counter-example, I would change my mind.
Thanks for asking,
Mark

Yes, it is possible to port to other platforms without the Vexed team's knowledge or approval, several people have already done so.
The only thing you must do is abide by the GNU General Purpose License that Vexed is licensed under.
In general, that means that you must release your project under the GPL license also, and that you must make your source code available.
Good luck on your port, and thanks for your interest in Vexed!
